Select Casting Ltd was originally formed to assist film makers from overseas who came over to the UK to shoot their films. Our purpose was to provide them with a service that mainly consisted of background artistes aiding them in grasping a feeling of reality in their productions. We have also grown to provide various other talents for them such as Lead artistes, Featured Extras, Dancers, Musicians etc.
Through our continued support, we have been able to also provide models for Magazine and Catalogue photo shoots.
It also our aim to provide a service to all our registered members free of charge, offering them opportunities allowing them the chance to gain experience and the chance to progress in their chosen careers within the film and entertainment industry.
Select casting was formed in 2004 by Venetia and Kerry as a hobby and a free service to both the film makers and the artists (now charging 20% to the film makers for all our services provided). Now we have firmly established our place within the industry and are recognised by filmmakers. Our service is still provided free to all aspiring artists young and old alike, no matter what their ethnicity.
We have been fortunate enough to work on Productions such as the highly publicised Namastey London where we provided extras. We also enjoyed working on Projects such as Salaam-E-Ishq where we provided the professional dancers as well as the extras. We provided the extras, motorcyclists and Miro the goon on Bhagam Bhag. We also have provided character artists in films such as Springtime in Autumn, Anuranann, Bombil and Beatrice (Where Paul Lavers played Beatrices' father - an important role). In Strangers we were able to provide Supporting artists. In Abbas Mastans 'Mr Fraud' we not only supplied extras but were also able to provide them with the professional violinst they required for one of their scenes. We have also been able to supply Lead artist for Deb Loy Deys' 'Take Two'. In addition to this we have supplied lead, support artists, character artist, extras and dancers in many smaller productions.
